<p>British furniture and lighting brand, <a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com" target="_blank">Established &amp; Sons</a>, has launched a new website as well as unveiled their online e-commerce relationship with <a href="http://www.yoox.com/establishedandsons/subhome.asp?dept=establishedandsons" target="_blank">Yoox.com</a>.</p>

<p>The designers of the website, <a href="http://www.madethought.com/" target="_blank">MadeThought</a>, have ditched their previous Flash-heavy website design in favour of something altogether less fussy. </p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-542" title="Established &amp; Sons 3" src="http://www.londondesignguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Picture-4.png" alt="Established &amp; Sons 3" width="520" height="257" /></p>
<p>The website starts with a series of tongue-in-cheek short videos of the designers interacting in some way with one of their designs from the company&#8217;s catalogue of products. Hmmm, designers as actors? Some work better than others &#8211; our favourite is perfectly staged by British design talent, <a href="http://www.alexandertaylor.com/" target="_blank">Alexander Taylor</a>, with his <a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/PrincipalCollection-Lighting-Fold/" target="_self">Fold Lamp</a> (shown below).</p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-543" title="Established &amp; Sons 4" src="http://www.londondesignguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Picture-3.png" alt="Established &amp; Sons 4" width="520" height="258" /></p>
<p>These videos continue on a random loop until you begin to navigate the site from a simple drop-down menu. From here, you can choose to look at the &#8216;<a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/PrincipalCollection-Introduction/" target="_blank">Principle Collection</a>&#8216; of production designs, such as the controversial <em><a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/PrincipalCollection-Storage-TheCrate/" target="_blank">Crate</a></em><a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/PrincipalCollection-Storage-TheCrate/" target="_blank"> by Jasper Morrison</a>.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-544" title="Established &amp; Sons 5" src="http://www.londondesignguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Picture-7.png" alt="Established &amp; Sons 5" width="520" height="256" /></p>
<p>The &#8216;<a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/SignatureCollection-AAASignatureCollectionTitle/" target="_blank">Signature Collection</a>&#8216; of high-end limited editions can also be accessed from the main menu, in which belongs the incredibly elegant and gravity-defying <em><a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/SignatureCollection-SurfaceTable/" target="_blank">Surface Table</a></em><a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/SignatureCollection-SurfaceTable/" target="_blank"> designed by Terence Woodgate &amp; John Barnard</a>.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-545" title="Established &amp; Sons 6" src="http://www.londondesignguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Picture-8.png" alt="Established &amp; Sons 6" width="520" height="257" /></p>
<p>The Established &amp; Sons <a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/LimitedGallery-IntroductiontoLimitedGallery/" target="_blank">LIMITED GALLERY</a> in London&#8217;s Mayfair has a dedicated section on the website for its exhibition schedule (picked out in a darker shade of grey), which includes the gallery&#8217;s current showcase of the new <em><a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/LimitedGallery-CurrentExhibition-BitsBobs/" target="_blank">Bits &amp; Bobs</a></em> limited edition box by <a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/LimitedGallery-DesignersArtists-Committee/" target="_blank">Committee</a>. The biographies of all the designers working with Established &amp; Sons can be seen <a href="http://www.establishedandsons.com/#/AboutUs-Designers-AAAADesignersTitleScreen/" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-546" title="Established &amp; Sons 7" src="http://www.londondesignguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Picture-9.png" alt="Established &amp; Sons 7" width="520" height="257" /></p>
<p>Interestingly, you can just ignore the shortcut navigation options altogether, and simply scroll through the entire website which runs seamlessly from top to bottom and includes all of the other information that you need concerning news, events, sales, press, distribution and the likes.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-547" title="Established &amp; Sons 8" src="http://www.londondesignguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Picture-5.png" alt="Established &amp; Sons 8" width="520" height="256" /></p>
<p>Established &amp; Sons&#8217; gallery and showroom are both reviewed in LONDON DESIGN GUIDE (see page 55 &amp; 115 in <a href="http://www.londondesignguide.com/the-book/" target="_blank">the book</a>).</p>
