Housed at their Mayfair gallery, British producer Established & Sons is showcasing their collection of lighting and objects which they recently developed in collaboration with legendary Italian glass producer Venini.

The exhibition showcases the six pieces in this collection, which includes designs by Established & Sons existing designers, Sebastian Wrong and Erwan & Ronan Bouroullec and introduces Michael Eden and Konstantin Grcic.

Venini was founded in 1921 on the island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon. Their glassware is handmade using the same wooden and metal tools that were used centuries of years ago, with a workshop of highly skilled artisan fifth generation glass blowers.

From the outset, Venini broke away from the traditional production methods of glassware and design constraints, and embraced an avant-garde style, implementing high quality techniques and colour palettes that have become synonymous with the brand to date.

British furniture and lighting brand, Established & Sons, has launched a new website as well as unveiled their online e-commerce relationship with Yoox.com.

The designers of the website, MadeThought, have ditched their previous Flash-heavy website design in favour of something altogether less fussy. 

The website starts with a series of tongue-in-cheek short videos of the designers interacting in some way with one of their designs from the company’s catalogue of products. Hmmm, designers as actors? Some work better than others – our favourite is perfectly staged by British design talent, Alexander Taylor, with his Fold Lamp (shown below).

These videos continue on a random loop until you begin to navigate the site from a simple drop-down menu. From here, you can choose to look at the ‘Principle Collection‘ of production designs, such as the controversial Crate by Jasper Morrison.

The ‘Signature Collection‘ of high-end limited editions can also be accessed from the main menu, in which belongs the incredibly elegant and gravity-defying Surface Table designed by Terence Woodgate & John Barnard.

The Established & Sons LIMITED GALLERY in London’s Mayfair has a dedicated section on the website for its exhibition schedule (picked out in a darker shade of grey), which includes the gallery’s current showcase of the new Bits & Bobs limited edition box by Committee. The biographies of all the designers working with Established & Sons can be seen here.

Interestingly, you can just ignore the shortcut navigation options altogether, and simply scroll through the entire website which runs seamlessly from top to bottom and includes all of the other information that you need concerning news, events, sales, press, distribution and the likes.

Talented young design duo Shay Alkalay & Yael Mer of Raw Edges Design Studio have created an impressive floor installation at Established & Sons LIMITED gallery in London’s Mayfair, launched to coincide with Frieze Art Fair.

‘Wall To Wall’ is the name of the installation, which comprises oiled oak herringbone parquet brick flooring. Taking a time-honoured floor type, Alkalay & Mer have developed the traditional finish by staining the individual bricks from a pallet of 15 different colours. By taking an everyday product and twisting the core element of it, they have developed a very vivid and characteristic mosaic design.

The designers have drawn on inspiration from their commission earlier in the year to design an installation for Design Miami/Basel 2009. After winning the Designers of the Future Award, the duo have collaborated with Established & Sons for a second time following on from the success of Stack, launched during Milan Furniture Fair 2008.
